Early 1955 production continued the New Design as the First Series; the redesigned truck that replaced it was marketed by GMC as the Blue Chip series, its own name for what Chevrolet called Task Force. Blue Chip cabs are a different shape, with a wraparound windshield and in-cab steps instead of running boards, and they take a different floor. Keep the old covering as your pattern for shifter and pedal openings (GMC offered both column-shift and floor-shift trucks), fix any rust or moisture in the pan first, and trial-fit before trimming. Because GMC cabs came off the same body line as Chevrolet, the three pieces install the same way; the patience is in the trimming, not the fitting.
