Collection: ACC Mercury Replacement Carpet Kits

Choose your vehicle application, then compare materials, coverage and options on each listing.

Sixty ACC Mercury carpet kits cover just two nameplates, Monterey and Montego, from 1952 to 2007. The hard part is not finding your car. It is decoding which version of it you own, because the listing titles carry footwell, rear section and shifter details that decide the fit.

Unlike the Ford hub next door, this Mercury collection is narrow and deep: Monterey from 1952 to 1976 and Montego from 1968 to 1976, plus one Montego return, 2005-2007. Depth creates its own trap. Several years hide near-identical cars whose floors differ, and ACC lists each variant separately. Read the full listing title as a spec sheet before ordering.

1961-1962 Monterey: The Variant Grid

No Mercury in this store needs more care than the 1961-1962 Monterey. Two-doors alone split by hardtop or convertible, automatic or four-speed, and then again by construction: foot wells or flat front, short rear or long rear. Four-doors carry their own combinations of the same choices. These are not trim names: they describe how the sections are shaped and where the rear piece ends, so the wrong guess will not lie down. Identify what your car actually has before choosing between a foot wells short rear kit and a flat front long rear kit.

Monterey Before and After the Grid

The 1952-1956 cars split the expected way, by sedan, hardtop and convertible, with the 1956 four-door hardtop listed on its own. The 1965-1968 Monterey pairs a four-door loop kit with a separate two-door automatic, the 1969-1973 cars go one-piece, and 1974 switches Monterey to cutpile. That break follows the industry calendar: loop was the original material in cars built before 1974, cutpile in most domestics after.

Montego: Column Shift Wording and GT Inserts

Montego starts with 1968-1971 four-doors and two-door hardtops, where the automatic listings state column shift in the title and four-speeds get separate kits. A floor-shift conversion changes which application fits, whatever the car left the factory with. The 1972-1973 Montego GT is the colorful exception: automatic and four-speed kits molded with two inserts in gray, red or black. Cutpile covers the 1974-1976 Montego, and the name closes with the 2005-2007 front-drive sedan, a three-piece cutpile kit with nothing in common with the rear-drive cars.

Fitting Notes

  • ACC kits are molded to the floor pan and may need trimming; padding is included where it was original.
  • Optional mass backing (an EVA layer about 45 mil thick) adds heat and sound control.
  • Keep the old carpet as your cutting template, and correct leaks before the new floor goes down.
