Start with the vehicle's current floor configuration

Write down the details that affect the passenger compartment: door count, cab length, seat arrangement, console, shifter location and drivetrain where specified. A truck with a regular cab and one with a crew cab need different coverage. A floor-shift car can require an application different from a column-shift car, even when both carry the same model badge.

Account for changes made during previous work. A transmission swap, replacement console or modified floor can make the current cabin different from its original specification. When an application is uncertain, compare the selected product with what is installed and provide those details before placing the order.

Molded flooring and package coverage

A product described as molded is formed for its stated application. It still needs to be positioned and fitted according to the instructions for that kit. Do not assume mounting holes or shifter openings are already cut unless the listing says so. Review any application notes before planning the installation.

Passenger-area, complete and individual-section products serve different restoration needs. Read the included sections with the piece count. One piece can describe an entire listed floor application or a separate carpeted section; the number alone does not establish coverage. Check whether curtains, console strips, cargo sections or other areas are expressly included.

Loop, Cutpile and other carpet materials

Texture affects how the floor coordinates with the rest of the cabin. Loop and Cutpile are different constructions represented in the ACC range, and some applications identify other material choices. Use the material specified on the selected product instead of assuming one finish is offered across every vehicle.

When planning a restoration in stages, choose a texture and shade direction before buying several separate pieces. Retained carpet and upholstery may have faded differently. Available sample information can be useful when a close match matters, while screen images should be treated as a visual reference.

Standard backing and listed upgrades

Review the backing configuration for the individual application. Where a mass-backing choice is offered, compare its description and selected price with the standard configuration. Do not assume every kit has the same choices or that an upgrade adds separate interior sections. Fitment, backing and package coverage remain distinct parts of the selection.

Check padding and other construction details on the product itself. Materials already attached to the carpet should be considered when planning the floor preparation. Follow the supplied installation guidance rather than automatically adding layers beneath the replacement flooring.

Plan the areas outside the main passenger floor

Loose floor mats provide a removable layer over installed flooring. Trunk mats and cargo-area carpet address other parts of the vehicle. Order these separately unless the chosen carpet package expressly identifies them. A matching color name does not establish that two products fit the same vehicle or provide the same material texture.

Prepare before trimming

Keep the old flooring as a reference and inspect the exposed floor for moisture, corrosion and damaged mounting areas. Correct leaks before covering the floor. Trial-fit all supplied sections, check the tunnel and trim edges, and follow the kit instructions before making irreversible cuts.
