Plan the Layer Beneath Your Interior Flooring

When the carpet is out, it is a useful time to inspect the materials beneath it. ACC sound deadening and insulation products should be selected for the stated vehicle and installation area, with attention to the package contents and the condition of the existing floor.

Check coverage and material requirements

Compare the areas included in each package rather than assuming one kit covers an entire cabin. Floor sections, other interior areas and carpet backing can have different roles. Read the product description to determine which materials are supplied and which original components are intended to remain.

Coordinate with the replacement carpet

Review the backing selected for your carpet before adding separate underfloor material. Extra thickness can affect fitting around the tunnel, seats and sill trim. Use the product instructions and application guidance to plan a compatible combination instead of stacking materials by guesswork.

Prepare the installation surface

Repair leaks and address corrosion before covering the floor. Follow the material's surface-preparation, placement and attachment instructions, and keep required mounting points and service access clear. Do not use an insulation layer to conceal unresolved water or structural damage.

Noise and heat results depend on the selected material, installation and vehicle. Compare the actual product specifications without assuming every package provides the same performance.
