Four listings, two model years, and one clean break between them. The 1959 Edsel Ranger mat is a one-piece part offered in Burtex or vinyl, and it fits two-door hardtop and sedan cars only. The 1960 mat is a two-piece part offered in fleece or vinyl, with no Burtex option at all. Year, material, and piece count all change together, so the first question on this page is never which mat looks best. It is which year your Ranger actually is.
1959: Burtex, vinyl, and a hard application limit
For 1959, the material choice is between Burtex and vinyl in the same one-piece cut. Burtex was Ford Motor Company's stamped-pattern trunk material of the period, the surface judges and Edsel specialists expect to see in a correct late-fifties Ford-family trunk. ACC reproduces it in the original-style material, and the Shelby concours world offers a useful authenticity check: genuine Burtex is not black on the back, so a mat with a black underside is not the real thing. The vinyl version covers the same floor with a plainer, harder-wearing surface. Neither 1959 listing stretches beyond its stated application, though: both are cut for the two-door hardtop and sedan. There is no 1959 listing here for a four-door, a wagon, or a convertible, so confirm your body style before the material debate even starts.
1960: two pieces, fleece or vinyl, no Burtex
The 1960 Ranger, from Edsel's final model year, changed format completely. The mat became a two-piece set, and the material menu changed with it: fleece or vinyl, with Burtex gone from the line. A 1960 owner hunting for a Burtex mat is chasing a listing that does not exist here, so the real decision is between the soft finish of fleece and the wipe-clean practicality of vinyl. Because the set comes in two pieces, test-fit both sections and align them before settling anything in place, and check how the split falls around the spare.
Whichever year you are fitting, pull the old material out and inspect the trunk floor first. Edsels lived hard lives as used cars, and a new mat will hide rust and moisture, not cure them.
