Collection: ACC Mercury Monterey Replacement Carpet Kits

Choose your vehicle application, then compare materials, coverage and options on each listing.

Shop loop replacement carpet kits for 1952-1962 Mercury Monterey sedans, hardtops and convertibles, including the split 1961-1962 listings for 4-speed and automatic cars with flat front or foot wells, short rear or long rear. Every kit is a 2-piece loop set.

1961-1962 Monterey owners: flat front or foot wells, short rear or long rear?

No Monterey application creates more ordering mistakes than 1961-1962. For those two years ACC splits the 2-door convertible and hardtop kits four ways: 4-speed or automatic, flat front or foot wells, and short rear or long rear. The floor stamping and rear seat area genuinely differ between those cars. Check your car's front floor shape and rear seat configuration before choosing, since a foot-well car will not accept the flat-front carpet correctly. Four-door hardtop owners have a separate molded listing with a flat front for the same years.

1952-1956 Monterey loop carpet kits, body by body

Earlier cars are simpler. The 1952-1954 Monterey range covers 2-door and 4-door sedans, and 1955-1956 adds the 2-door hardtop and convertible plus a 4-door hardtop for 1956, every one a 2-piece loop kit. The front and rear sections are made as a matched pair rather than a single piece. Match the kit to your exact body style - sedan carpet is not interchangeable with hardtop or convertible carpet.

Why loop is the correct material for a Monterey

Every kit in this collection is loop, and that is deliberate. ACC's loop is 100 percent 6.6 nylon yarn tufted to a 1/8 gauge at 20 ounces per square yard, and loop was the original flooring material in cars built before 1974. It is the low-pile weave judges and originality-focused restorers expect in a fifties Mercury interior, and it hides wear better than the plusher cut pile fitted to later cars. For a factory-correct cabin, loop in a period color is the answer, and ACC lists more than 200 colors.

Standard backing or mass backing?

Two decisions remain at checkout. Padding is included where padding was original, and the heel pad is applied the same way the OEM applied it, so neither needs a separate decision. Backing does. Standard poly backing keeps the kit lighter and easier to settle into the floor pan. The optional mass backing bonds roughly 45 mil of EVA to the carpet, adding a real heat and sound barrier - worth it on a Monterey that gets driven rather than trailered. Confirm it on the specific listing first, since ACC cannot apply mass backing to every flooring type.
