Start with the model, not the year

A shared production year proves nothing across nameplates. The catalog keeps separate Camaro applications for 1982-1984 and 1985-1992, each with and without a console, because the hardware changed when the silhouette did not. At the classic end, 1949-1952 Styleline Deluxe two-door coupe/sedan and four-door sedan bench-seat kits are their own applications. Match the model category to the car in the garage, including any console, seat or transmission changes made since it left the factory.

Construction follows the era

Earlier cars generally take cut-and-sewn carpet, assembled from cut pieces, while molded carpet formed to the floor pan takes over from the early 1960s onward. Both live here. The C1 Corvette complete sets show the early end in depth, offered in Daytona Loop, Tuxedo Loop, Foam Loop and Grospoint for 1953-1962 cars. Trucks split on the shifter, SUVs on coverage

For 1975-1980 C10 regular-cab two-wheel-drive trucks, the catalog separates four-speed floor-shift flooring from automatic and three-speed column-shift flooring, with crew-cab C20 and four-wheel-drive K-series listings adding their own distinctions. On Blazer, Tahoe and Suburban applications the question is where the carpet stops: passenger floor, rear load area, or both, with wheelhouse and panel pieces included only when the listing names them.

Backing, then the fitting session

Most kits carry jute padding. Where mass backing is offered, its dense EVA layer adds rigidity that helps the carpet hold the pan's shape, plus extra heat and sound control. Either way, plan the install around the old carpet: kits do not arrive with seat bolt, shifter or seat belt holes pre-cut. Keep the original as a template, set the new carpet in the car, and mark and trim openings in place.
