Three Sets Wear the Same 1961 Date
The most crowded year on this page is 1961, and it is crowded for a reason. The broad set covers 1960-1964 Galaxie interiors, but the 1961 Starliner and the 1961 Sunliner each get their own named set. The Starliner's fastback roofline and the Sunliner's convertible layout change the rear floor area enough that ACC patterns them apart from the hardtops and sedans. ACC's own fitment tables for these years list Starliner and Sunliner as separate trims for the same reason. So the order of questions matters: body style first, year second. If your 1961 car wears one of those two nameplates, its named set is the one cut for it, not the general 1960-1964 set that also lists the year.
1959: The Retractable Hardtop Stands Apart
The earliest split is at the very start of the Galaxie name. Alongside the standard 1959 set sits a dedicated set for the 1959 2-door retractable hardtop, the folding-top Skyliner flagship. The retractable was a one-year Galaxie offering with its own rear compartment hardware, and ACC keeps its mats separate from every other 1959 application. Retractable owners are used to this: nearly every interior part on that car is its own part.
The 500 Years, and the Only Cutpile Set
From the mid-1960s the names settle down. A loop set covers 1965-1967, then the Galaxie 500 takes over the listings: loop for the single year 1968, loop again for 1969-1973, and a cutpile set for 1974. That 1974 set is the only cutpile on the page, and it follows the material calendar rather than a body change, since loop pile was the original material before 1974 and cut pile took over from about 1974. A 1974 Galaxie 500 already wearing loop mats is dressed for an earlier car.
Every set here covers both rows in four pieces, front and rear, with embroidered logo choices made the same way: choose the carpet color, choose the logo, then choose the logo thread color. The sets differ in the pattern they are cut from, never in the piece count, which is exactly why the body style and trim name on your title matter more than the year on the registration.
