GMC C1500 and C15 Replacement Carpet

GMC called its half-ton 2WD truck the C15 for years before switching to C1500, and ACC lists them together, so this page covers both names. You will find molded floors for regular cabs, extended cabs and Suburbans from 1967 to 1999, each formed on a mold of the floor listed in its title.

1967-1972 GMC C15 carpet

These trucks are split by transmission and gas tank. Regular cab Loop floors are listed for 4-speed floor shift, automatic or 3-speed column shift, and Auto 400 column shift with the high tunnel, each with or without the in-cab tank. C15 Suburbans have complete 6-piece Loop sets, passenger area kits and cargo area kits, also listed by transmission.

1973-1986 square body C15 and C1500 carpet

The square body years run 1973 in Loop, then 1974 and later in Cutpile. Regular cab floors are listed for 4-speed, automatic and Auto 400 trucks, and Suburbans get complete, passenger area and cargo area kits for 1973, 1974, 1975-1978, 1979-1980 and 1981-1986. Vinyl floors are offered from 1973 to 1980, and door panels, kick panels and rear cab walls are listed through 1986.

1988-1999 GMC C1500 carpet

For the 1988 and later body style, ACC lists regular cab floors for 1988-1999, extended cab floors for 1988-1996 and 1997-1999, and Suburban kits for 1992-1999 in complete, passenger area and cargo area versions.

Picking the right kit

Match the year group first, then the cab or Suburban, then the transmission. For 1967-1972 trucks, check whether the fuel tank is still behind the seat, and if you have a Turbo 400, choose the Auto 400 high tunnel kit. Then choose Loop, Cutpile or vinyl, your color and the backing.

Install tips

Remove the seat and old carpet, check the floor and cab corners for rust, and fix any leaks. Warm the new carpet so it relaxes into the tunnel, then trim openings slowly. On Suburbans, fit the front section first and work back.

How to confirm your GMC

The VIN and the service parts sticker in the glove box will confirm the model and drivetrain. A C means 2WD and a K means 4WD, so a C15 or C1500 should have no transfer case lever on the floor. Extended cabs have the extra space behind the front seat, and Suburbans have a full rear passenger area and cargo floor. If your truck has been converted from automatic to manual or the tank was moved, order the kit for how it sits now.

Material and color

Loop is the correct look for 1967-1973 trucks, and Cutpile for 1974 and later. Compare colors against a hidden piece of old carpet under the seat, since exposed carpet fades over the years.

GMC C1500 carpet FAQ

Is a GMC C15 the same as a Chevy C10? The trucks are closely related, but ACC lists them separately. Order the GMC listing that matches your truck.

What does Auto 400 mean? It is the Turbo 400 transmission, which uses a taller tunnel, so it has its own kit.

Shipping? All ACC carpet ships free by UPS Ground from Radiant Speed Works. Not sure which kit fits? Call 888-257-8515.
